Muslims should reject extortion Perkasa burning Gospel, says Anwar
Opposition leader says Pakatan Rakyat (PR) firm in protecting the purity of Islam, at the same time reject the attitude of mempolitikkan religion and racism.

Penang's Chief Minister urges police acting on threats bakar Gospel
KUALA LUMPUR, 23 Jan — Ketua Menteri Pulau Pinang Lim Guan Eng hari ini menggesa Ketua Polis negeri Datuk Datuk Abd Rahim Hanafi untuk mengambil tindakan sewajarnya keatas pihak bertanggungjawab mengedar risalah berbentuk ugutan untuk membakar kitab Injil yang tersebar di negeri tersebut.
Dalam satu surat kepada Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM), Lim berharap agensi penguatkuasa tersebut menghalang daripada rancangan tersebut yang dikatakan bakal diadakan pada 27 Januari di Padang Bandaran Bagan Luar, Butterworth, dapat dihalang.
“Saya ingin memohon jasa baik dan kerjasama pihak Datuk Abd Rahim untuk mengambil tindakan yang sewajarnya, menghalang perbuatan tersebut daripada berlaku,” kata beliau (gambar) dalam satu surat kepada PDRM.
Lim juga berharap pihak polis dapat mengerahkan kawalan ketat pada hari Ahad ini bagi mengelak sebarang insiden tidak diingini dan buruk berlaku jika ia berjalan.
“Saya juga berharap agar kawalan diketatkan pada waktu tersebut bagi menjaga keselamatan dan keharmonian kawasan itu,” tambah setiausaha agung DAP itu lagi.
Ugutan membakar Injil telah disuarakan oleh sebuah badan bukan kerajaan (NGO) Melayu pro-kerajaan Barisan Nasional, Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa (Perkasa) dalam satu konvensyen mereka di Pulau Pinang minggu lalu.
Dalam laporan media semasa konvensyen tersebut, Datuk Ibrahim Ali mencadangkan supaya naskhah Injil dibakar untuk menghentikan tindakan menghina sensitiviti orang Islam.
Walaubagaimanapun sejurus ugutan oleh NGO tersebut dipertikaikan dan dituduh bertujuan menimbulkan sentimen kebencian antara agama, Perkasa telah mengeluarkan satu kenyataan menjelaskan kenyataan Ibrahim telah disalahtafsir kerana kitab Injil yang dimaksudkan adalah dalam bahasa Melayu.
Susulan kenyataan oleh presidennya tersebut, ia telah mengundang pelbagai kritikan daripada pihak Pakatan Rakyat (PR), NGO dan pengamal undang-undang.
Malahan, pengerusi DAP Karpal Singh juga telah membuat satu laporan polis ke atas Ibrahim semalam bagi menggesa Peguam Negara Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail mengambil tindakan keatas kenyataan Ahli Parlimen Pasir Emas tersebut.
Perkasa aktif dalam memperjuangkan kepentingan bangsa Melayu dan seringkali mengkritik Pakatan Rakyat (PR) — gabungan PKR, PAS dan DAP yang dikatakan menggugat kepentingan Melayu dan bumiputera sepertimana dijamin oleh Perlembagaan Persekutuan.
Kehadiran Perkasa tidak disenangi oleh sesetengah pihak terutamanya dari PR yang menggangap pertubuhan tersebut mengamalkan perkauman dan tidak menghormati Malaysia sebagai sebuah negara berbilang kaum.

Parts Alliance Management, raise contribution LTAT revamped military
PETALING JAYA, Jan 23 — Pakatan Rakyat (PR) suggests management of Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT) overhauled again by putting representatives from the military as a member of most, as well as the contribution from Government contributed 20 per cent, compared with 15 percent each month now.
Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said profit and revenue LTAT fit fairer distribution, including provision of special troops mikrokredit scheme to ensure that they get noticed after leaving the service.
"Increased 5 per cent contribution needs to be managed separately in the Fund LTAT and dedicated to the remuneration in the form of monthly assistance to former armed forces personnel," said Anwar in a press conference in the headquarters of the PKR today.
"The Pakatan Rakyat should introduce special dividend to a former Member who is not pensionable and only depends on profit LTAT every year, this special dividend to help security personnel who do not have pensions faced with rising cost of living history."
Anwar today present Leftanan General (RTD) Datuk Abdul Ghafir Abdul Hamid, a former battalion commanding officer Malbat to Namibia, in the press conference today.
Abdul Ghafir, who served in the military for 35 years, said the military needs to be upgraded, especially welfare home troops who are still left behind.
"We cannot accept if residential military personnel still in the third world countries, next to residential buildings in its vicinity, we have to take care of the welfare of military personnel," said Abdul Ghafir again.
Anwar said the PR value the role and contribution of members of the national security ever and is being served, and this award can only be shown if freedom, welfare and dignity of ATM maintained.
"When we attack accusing Umno of the spine, the free military institutions mainly, in fact we want to strengthen them.

PUTRAJAYA: The Government has no intention to influence the thinking of students through activities on the campus, said higher education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.
He said allegations that the Government influenced the thinking of students through activities such as forum is not true because it defeats the purpose of higher education.
"There is no intention to influence the thinking of students, it will not help us achieve the target of planting critical thinking skills among students," said Mohamed Khaled told reporters here.
He again said the Ministry or University Utara Malaysia is not involved with the forum held in UUM involve undergraduates should K.S. Bawani and President of women's Voices 1 (SW1M) Sharifah El Faracha Jabeen Syed Shah poor.
Forum sparked controversy when a video clip in YouTube social page shows Sharifah El Faracha Jabeen memaki expletives Bawani on free education.

A 24 year old girl packs and measles outside wedlock baby in trash bin

PUTRAJAYA: Despite the criticism and accusations thrown over the transparency and independence of the judicial system, but a former Federal Court judge Datuk Seri Panglima Sulong Matjeraie pointed out never during his service there are people trying to influence his decision.

About his future after his retirement, he said he would take a break before deciding what to be doing.
"I'm going to relax prior to start doing other things. Actually I have no future plans. The first thing I will do is relax. It is a trip that long.
